Fennema Family

Fennema Family
Mike and Stephanie moved to the Evans area in 2008 when Mike was called to work at Redeemer Presbyterian Church. Mike continues to serve at Redeemer as Associate pastor. Stephanie is a full time Mom and part time PA at Covenant Pediatrics. They have two boys Elliot, 3, and Oliver 1 and are adopting a daughter from China.

Cote Family

Cote Family
Kelly and Jessica have lived in North Augusta since October 2005. Kelly works at Fort Gordon and Jessica is a full-time mom and home-schools the girls. They already have three girls ages 9, 7 and 7 months. The Cote's started the adoption process for a little boy in Ethiopia in February of 2010. God first had other plans, in July they found out they were pregnant with their youngest girl, so the adoption was put on hold as is the requirement of their agency. Kelly and Jessica, along with their girls are so excited to be on the path of adoption again and can't wait to continue to grow their family.

The Wilkerson Family

The Wilkerson Family
We're the Wilkerson family. Josh, Audrey, Joshua, Jesse, Owen, and soon-to-be baby sister, Zoe Ameris. We've always wanted a big family and once we got a glimpse of the Father's heart for orphans, we knew adoption was the path we were called to take. While exploring many different adoption avenues, God began to put the children of Africa on our hearts. It wasn't long before we realized that our daughter was going to come from Ethiopia. We are humbled and blessed that God would choose us to be the family in which He would place Zoe Ameris. We give Him all the glory and pray that our adoption story will be used to draw others unto Him.

The Wileys

The Wileys
The Wileys have called Evans home since Jason and Michelle married in 1996. Jason, owner/operator of Jostens-Georgia Campus Services, works with high schools providing graduation products and memorabilia. Michelle home schools their children, Parker (12), Spencer (8), Brendan (7), and Sara Kate (5). Working with orphans in Swaziland, Africa, God opened their eyes and hearts to the plight of the orphan. Continuing to watch and support families traveling the journey of adoption, the Wileys began the adoption process of their own in July of 2011 and await for the arrival of their child born in Ethiopia.

FAQ

FAQ

Where is Blanchard Woods Park? It's the new soccer complex park off Blanchard Road which is just off Washington Road: 4600 Blanchard Woods Drive. Not to be confused with Blanchard Park off BelAir Rd.

Describe the 5k course: The 5K course begins on the soccer field at BlanchardWoods Park in Evans and leaves the fenced area to circle the outer loop trail. There are several hills on the course and the terrian is dirt, grass, and/or wood chips. The finish is on the soccer complex.

Describe the 1 mile course: 2 laps around the soccer field - all on grass. Strollers are welcome.

How do I get sponsorships? Please ask at least 10 people to sponsor each participant for any amount. Please print the sponsorship page to the right and staple a collection envelope to it. Donations can be cash or check made out to Trot to Adopt with the family you are running for listed in the memo line.

What should I expect on race day? Blanchard Woods Park has restroom facilities and ample parking. The 5K will begin at 10 AM, but we will have Tshirt and bib # pick-up, and race-day registration beginning at 8:30 AM. The 1 mile Family Fun Run/Walk will begin shortly after the 5K start, approximately 10:15. Awards will be presented after the 5k.

Registration Question: What if I want to run the 5K, but my husband and kids want to do the Family 1 mile? Each person on the 5K course has to be registered and paid for separately. So, you would register for the 5K ($25), and then your husband would register himself and your children as a family for the 1 mile ($25).

What snacks will be provided? Bagels, bananas and bottled water
